Enrique “Leeke” Gonzalez-Guerrero passed away on February 27, 2012 in Milton Freewater, Oregon.
Leeke was born July 15, 1950 in Zacatecas, Mexico. He came to the United States and was proud when he became a legal citizen in January of 1990 but took trips to Mexico to visit his family.
He was a hard worker. He started to work for Earl Brown and Sons in Milton Freewater 36 years ago and worked there until present. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle & companion of 21 years to Jean Armijo. He was easy-going and patient and spent most of his time playing with his grandkids. He taught them to walk, ride bikes and had a deep special love for them. Most weekends, you would find him out in the yard with the kids or shopping around with one or two of his grandkids following along.
He loved working in the yard, fixing everything and working on cars. What he loved most was having family together & enjoying weekend BBQs. He always did the cooking. The thing he cared about most was that all his family was taken care of here & in Mexico. He devoted special love & time to his two youngest granddaughters, Taytem & Payton Mendoza who loved him very much. “We miss you grandpa.” We are at peace knowing he loved his family deeply and he knew how deeply he was loved.
He is survived by his companion, Jean Armijo, his son, Angel Gonzalez, stepchildren, Cruz Mendoza, Yvonne Gonzalez, Denise Leslie & Ruben Mendoza; 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; 3 sisters, Elena Gonzalez, Maria delos Angeles Gonzalez, Carmen Gonzalez; 5 brothers, Manuel Gonzalez Guerrero, Gabriel Gonzalez Guerrero, Juan Gonzalez Guerrero, Dagoberto Gonzalez Guerrero & Javier Gonzalez Guerrero; his mother, Magdalena Guerrero and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father & 1 grandson.
