Emmie James Estes

November 27, 2023 — November 9, 2024

Walla Walla

Our family mournfully announces the passing of Emmie James Estes, who left this earth much too soon and unexpectedly on November 9, 2024.

Emmie was born on November 27, 2023, at St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA. She was quickly transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA where she then spent the next two months receiving the best care. Emmie had a complex medical journey. Emmie faced chromosomal abnormalities and many medical diagnoses from her head to her toes with a resilience and fortitude that inspired all who knew of her story. We are forever grateful for her team of doctors, specialists, and therapists who aimed to enhance Emmie's quality of life and well-being. She was a gentle soul, and the brightest ray of sunshine in the lives of those who met her. Her presence, smile, and light will be missed more than her parents have the words to describe.

Emmie will always be remembered by her loving parents, Kyle and Jennifer; her older sister, Elena; her older brother, Eden; her grandparents, Jodi and Paul Henline, Michael Estes, Terri Quinn, and Darrell Wilbur; her uncles, Evan Frank, Ethan Henline, Travis Wilbur, and Brendon Kmetz; her aunts, Erica Wilbur and Mikena Estes; her cousins, Almira Chandler, Ashley Marks, Braxton Kmetz, and Evelyn Angulo; her great grandparents, Larry Hooker, Colleen King, Richard and Jan Byram, and Yvonne Henline; numerous great aunts, great uncles, family and friends.

A public viewing at Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, followed by a recital of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home, with the Graveside service to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family requests guests celebrate Emmie by wearing colors to the service.

Emmie's family would like to thank everyone for all the texts, phone calls, messages, visits, cards, prayers, flowers, gifts, donations and food that have been provided during this traumatic time. We would like to offer our deepest heartfelt thanks to the first responders. Our hearts break for you, and we wish we could thank you each in person. Thank you to our friends, family, and members of the community who have come together to help lay our sweet girl to rest. The amount of support and kindness has been nothing short of amazing. "
