Elizabeth "Betty" Louise Fish

October 3, 1942 — September 25, 2017

Walla Walla

Elizabeth Louise Dorsey Fish was born in Walla Walla and passed away there on September 28, 2017, just shy of her 75th birthday.

Betty was born October 3, 1942 to Martin and Gertie (Marbach) Dorsey. The youngest of four children, they were raised on the family wheat ranch west of Prescott. Betty loved her family, horses and the farm. She was a member of the Wagonettes and a princess on the Waitsburg Days of Real Sport and Walla Walla Frontier Days Rodeo courts.

Betty graduated from Prescott High School in 1960. She attended Oregon State University, graduated from Eastern Washington College and earned her Master’s degree in Physical Education from Murray State. Miss Dorsey taught in Waitsburg, Ritzville and Odessa, but returned to the ranch each summer to drive combine in wheat harvest.

She married Harold Fish on November 16, 1991. They lived in Soap Lake for many years.

Betty was one-of-a kind. Her quirky sense of humor and zest for adventure endeared her to friends and family. Having no children of her own, she focused her attention on her nieces and nephews. They have many fond memories and crazy stories about “good ol’ Aunt Betty.”

She is survived by her husband Harold Fish; Sisters Laverne (Justin) Mayberry and Peggy (Jerry) Hall; sister-in-law Peggy Dorsey, ten nieces and nephews and twenty-three great nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Gertie Dorsey and brother, George Dorsey.
