Elizabeth Joanne Ebding

Elizabeth Joanne Ebding passed away peacefully at home in Walla Walla with family on September 17, 2025, at the age of 71. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all.

Joanne was born July 17, 1954, to Joe and Jean Huffman in Wallowa County. She graduated from Mac-Hi in 1972 and earned a degree from Kinman Business University in Spokane. She enjoyed a long career at Pacific Power & Light.

She married William H. Ebding on August 26, 1978. They have two adult children, Jill Ebding (44) in Glendale, AZ, and Will Ebding (41) in South Bend, IN, with their one grandson, Dominic (15).

She loved sewing, took pride in her beautiful rose gardens, and loved her red ‘67 Camaro. She was at every school and sporting event, cheering in the stands. If something needed to be planned, crafted, or organized, she was the one to call.

Joanne is survived by her husband, William Ebding; daughter, Jill Ebding; son, Will Ebding; grandson, Dominic; mother, Jean Huffman; sisters, Janice Taylor and Joyce Nelson; niece, Tammy Tucker; and other family.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Huffman; in-laws, William and Flora Ebding; and brothers-in-law, Dennis Ebding and Dennis Groom.

Her family would like to thank the amazing caregivers over the past 12 years, the comforting staff at Hospice of Walla Walla, and Herring’s Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.
