Eleanor Tomlinson, 86, of Walla Walla, peacefully passed away at the Odd Fellows Home on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
Eleanor was born in 1923 on a homestead in Adams County to Carl & Anna (Braun) Koehler.
She was baptized & confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville.
Her family moved to Walla Walla in 1943 and she graduated from WA-HI in 1950.
After graduation she worked as a Beautician at Whites Beauty Salon and as a Telephone operator in California before moving back to Walla Walla.
Eleanor met Donald Tomlinson at “The Nat” in Walla Walla and they were married on May 6, 1956 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Her and Don started their Dairy farm west of Walla Walla in 1956 and operated it until 1996.
She was a homemaker, the past-President of the Walla Walla Iris club, and a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Walla Walla where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Eleanor enjoyed working in the Iris garden, traveling, reading, caring for many animals on the farm & spending time with her Granddaughters.
She is survived by her sons Marshall, Walter, and Kirk (wife, Kristin); her sister, Emma; a sister-in-law Jo Ann; and two Granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, Carl and Anna; her brothers and sisters, Clifford, Dorothy, Helen, Julia and Donald.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Viewing will be held at Herring- Groseclose Funeral Home on Thursday March 9, 2017 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens at 11:00AM followed by a memorial service held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 12:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Mountain Humane Society, St. Jude’s or Make A Wish Foundation through Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W.
