Edwin Earl Oxley, 64, Passed away at his home on October 23, 2022.
Born to Cloyde and Dorothy Oxley in Allegan, Michigan, on August 11, 1958.
He attended Stonecave Academy in Dunlap, Tennessee, and graduated in 1978. During his time at Stonecave, Edwin met his high school sweetheart, Kathy Rendel, and it was love at first sight.
Edwin and Kathy were married on August 19, 1979, in Fenton, Michigan.
They lived in Holly, Michigan, for six months before moving to Loma Linda, California. In 1984 they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer. When she was ready for grade school, the family chose to move to Walla Walla in December of 1990, where they lived in the same house for 30 years.
Edwin had many skills; he loved working with his hands and solving problems. He worked at Loma Linda Foods, College Dairy Farm, Grab-On Products and had worked for Andy’s Market for the last 19 years. He loved his Andy’s Market family.
The family enjoyed many trips to California at Thanksgiving time to visit Kathy’s family and, more recently, trips to his vacation home in Montana, where he enjoyed making memories with his daughter and family by picking blueberries, going on hikes, playing at the river and skipping rocks, kayaking, and visiting the giant cedar trees.
He enjoyed hiking, biking, camping, snowmobiling, and anything outdoors! Edwin was a kid at heart, especially when playing with his grandsons, LJ and Wyatt, whether it be throwing a football, making sailboats out of snake grass and racing them downstream, or watching them play soccer! He was involved with Pathfinders as a counselor for the past year and loved working with the kids. He loved going to church and was a very kind, loving man, who would do anything to help someone in need, and always seized an opportunity for a smile.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy (2021); his parents, Cloyde and Dorothy Oxley; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, William and Shirley Rendel; brother, Dennis Oxley; brother-in-law, Earl Borton; sister-in-law, Sally Casas; and nephew, Nathan Blood.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Garza (Jess); sisters, Sharon Borton and Freida Blood (Dave); two Grandsons, Jess Jr (LJ) and Wyatt Garza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
