Edward James Bigelow

November 21, 1922 — April 6, 2013

Edward James Bigelow passed away April 6, 2013, at
his home. Ed was born Nov. 21, 1922, in Oakland, Calif.,
to George and Ellen (Pfhester) Bigelow. He served
in the U.S. Navy during World War II and upon his discharge
worked his way to being appointed agricultural
commissioner for the state of California.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Lisa Bigelow
of College Place; his sister, Pat Meader of Seattle; his
brother, Charles Bigelow of San Lorenzo, Calif. He was
preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Bigelow;
wife, Joan Bigelow; brothers, George, John, Robert
and Thomas Bigelow; sister, Mary Ellen.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to
Carol Jones for her tireless care of Dad these last few
months.

He asked that there be no service, therefore, his family
would like to invite friends to a no host celebration
at The Red Monkey on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at 2
p.m. He loved his Sunday shrimp cocktails and we can
think of no better way to remember him for the special
man he was.

Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla
Community Hospice through the Herring Groseclose
Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
