Dorothy Jean Watson (Ferris), beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, died at the Gene & Irene Wockner Hospice Center in Kirkland, Washington, October 24th, 2012. Dorothy's daughters, Paula & Pamela, were at her side at the time of her passing.
Dorothy was born August 7th, 1928 in Carroll County, Tennessee; to Lester R. and Eugene Noles. Dorothy and her family remained in Tennessee until at the age of eight years old, the family moved to the Brawley-Bellflower area of California. Dorothy's family moved to Fowler, Colorado in 1944 and she graduated from Fowler High School in 1947. Dorothy met her future husband, Charles E. Watson (Charlie), while attending high school. Four days after her high school graduation, Dorothy and Charlie were married and began their life together.
In 1955, Charlie and Dorothy moved from Colorado to Ennis, Montana. Charlie and Dorothy moved to the Walla Walla area in 1956. At that time, Charlie began working for the Klicker Bros. as their cattle foreman and worked for the Klicker family until his untimely death in 1960.
During the years Charlie and Dorothy were married, they had two children; Paula in 1952 & Pamela in 1957. Dorothy had a deep love and personal commitment to her Baptist faith. In the mid-1960's, Dorothy volunteered as a 'Gray Lady' at the VA Hospital in Walla Walla. In 1973, Dorothy met and then married George Ferris. George and Dorothy were married 27 years.

Dorothy was also a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Walla Walla. Years earlier she was a longtime member of the Eastgate Missionary Baptist Church in Walla Walla, which her father had pastored in the 1950's.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Paula J. Lodahl (Chris) of North Bend, WA; and Pamela J. Watson-McInnes (John McInnes) of Bellevue, WA; Chad C. Lodahl of SeaTac, WA; Timothy C. Lodahl of Seattle, WA; Luke S. Lodahl of SeaTac, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester R. and Eugene Noles; her first husband, Charles E. Watson; her second husband George Ferris; her sister Lessie Lambert; and her great granddaughter Roxy Lodahl.
Viewing & visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gene and Irene Wockner Hospice Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association through the funeral home.
