Donald "Don" Earl Lutton, 59, of Milton-Freewater, OR, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Providence St Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla after an extended illness.
Don was born in Loma Linda, CA to Larry Lutton and Dorothy (White) Walker. He graduated Walla Walla Valley Academy in 1978 where he met Gail Archer; they were married on November 16, 1980 in College Place. He obtained a degree in Civil Engineering and Drafting in 1987 and worked as a Senior CAD Technician until his death.
In 1984 Don survived cancer and a bone marrow transplant; although he dealt with side effects the rest of his life he handled them with grace. He was always willing to listen and offer wisdom and advice, which his children greatly appreciated. Don was gifted in water color painting and his paintings were sold in a gallery in Redmond and one was included in a juried art show in Bellevue. His other hobbies included gardening and woodworking, and a particular passion for fishing and collecting fishing gear.
Don is survived by his wife, Gail Lutton; mother, Dorothy Walker; father, Larry Lutton; sister, Lynn Yoder; brother, Richard Lutton; daughter and son-in-law, Cameron and April Shelden; daughter, Natalie Lutton; grandson, Landon Lutton and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by several extended family members and beloved grandson Riley Lutton.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11:00am at Texas Rapids Park and Boat Launch, just below Little Goose Dam on the Snake River; Don's favorite place to fish. A potluck picnic will follow, dinnerware and beverages will be provided; bring a chair and sunscreen. Casual attire, no alcohol allowed, Carpooling is recommended due to limited parking.
