Diana Rose Osborne

April 4, 1950 — September 14, 2016

Walla Walla

Early on the morning of September 14, 2016, Diana Rose
Osborne passed away at her home. Her death was unexpected.
She is now a bright new heavenly star watching over us.
She was born on April 4, 1950 to J. Aline Reynolds Burnette
and Edward O. Burnette in Walla Walla, Washington. A lifelong
resident of the Walla Walla Valley, she attended local schools and
graduated from Walla Walla High School in June, 1968. After
graduating from high school, she joined the US Navy for a couple
of months before returning home to the valley she loved. She
attended Walla Walla Community College for several quarters
studying business administration.
Diana began her working career as a volunteer in medical
records at the old Saint Mary’s Hospital. This job soon turned
into a full time paid position, which she held for about 5 years.
In 1977, she went to work for the Walla Walla Country Club in
their office, a position she really enjoyed. In 1988, she decided
to become a stay-at-home mom with the arrival of our daughter
Tammy, from Korea, in July, 1988. In the early 1990s she had
the opportunity to work for the Walla Walla Public Library as a
Library Tech. She retired from the City of Walla Walla in 2010.
She was a avid maker of afghans and other needlework
projects, just like her mother. She enjoyed making projects for
family and friends and surprising them with a gift she had made.
Diana was active in several Masonic Organizations. She was
a majority member of Job’s Daughters and was a past Bethel
Guardian. She was a 40+ year member of Alki Chapter #25,
Order of the Eastern Star and had been its Worthy Matron
several times. She was currently serving the Grand Chapter of
Washington, Order of the Eastern Star as a Deputy Instructor.
She was also a member of the Walla Walla First Presbyterian
Church.
She is survived by her husband Kent, their daughter Tammy
and grandchild Crystal Osborne-Flores. She is also survived
by a brother Robert J. Burnette of Medford, Oregon, a sister
Merry Burnette Graham of Ayr, Scotland, UK, an uncle Stuart
Reynolds of Walla Walla, and numerous nieces and nephews. She
was predeceased by her parents, and sisters Barbara Browing of
Michigan and Pat Bowers of Edmonds, Washington.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at
6pm at the Walla Walla Masonic Temple, 607 E. Main St,
Walla Walla, Washington.
Memorial contributions may be made
to the Shrine Hospital, Spokane Unit, or
