Debra Susan Barer was born to Alan L. and the late Jean Granek Barer on Aug. 17, 1959. She preferred the name Teri.
Teri attended Sharpstein Elementary School and completed her four-year course at Walla Walla High School in three years. In what would have been her fourth year, she attended the University of Washington and then graduated with her class.
Teri drove down the coast, working as a DJ at country western stations, eventually settling in Nashville, where she could be at the heart of the country music scene and devoted herself to that community with a great deal of volunteer work.
Survivors are father, Alan L. Barer (Regina) of Kirkland, Wash.; brothers, Michael (Debra) of Maple Valley, Wash., Daniel (Amy) of Los Angeles, Steven (Dawn) of Walla Walla.
