David Lyle Meling

David Meling, 56, of Walla Walla, passed away on March 10, 2024, following a critical illness.

David was born April 14, 1967, in Lewiston, ID, to Mike Meling and Diane (Hesler) Austin. He grew up in Lenore, ID, and graduated from Lapwai High School in 1985. He married the love of his life, Jody Heimgartner, on August 1, 1992. Together, they had Jesse and Lindsey. In 2000 the family moved to Walla Walla where David worked at Nelson Irrigation for 22 years. He loved his family, friends, and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Jody; son, Jesse (Kirsten); daughter, Lindsey (Tyler); mother, Diane; and his sister, Michelle. He is also survived by grandkids, McKenna, Levi, Kalena, Jasper, and Natalie; nieces, Jordan, Allison, Kayla, and Taran; and nephew, Brice, along with many bonus kids and grandkids. He is preceded in death by his father, Mike, and sister, Suzie.

The family would like family and friends to join in a celebration of life, which will be held on March 23, 2024, at the Walla Walla Elks Lodge #287 in Walla Walla from 12:30-4:00 PM.
