David Ramon Hopkins

David R. Hopkins, of Walla Walla, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at the age of 85. Born to Jay and Jewell Hopkins in Peoria, OK, he was one of five children. The family moved to Prescott, WA, in 1946 and then to Walla Walla in 1948.

Dave joined the U.S. Air Force in 1958, at age 17, and after 4+ years returned home to Walla Walla. Dave married Patricia Braden in 1965, making Walla Walla their forever home. “Hoppy” worked as a pressman for the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin and retired on March 31, 2004, after 42 years on the job. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and traveling to Nashville, TN, and Branson, MO.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, of 60 years; two sons, John Hopkins (Katie) and Chris Hopkins (Carol); one daughter, Laurie Hopkins (Rock); four wonderful grandkids, TJ, Nickolas, Nathan, and Marissa; and his brother, James. He was preceded in death by both parents and three sisters, Louise, Jessie, and Marcia.

A family graveside burial will be held on April 10, 2026, at Mountain View Cemetery.
