David Rueben Grimm

Walla Walla, WA. - David R Grimm, 79, died Saturday, December 24th at Saint Mary’s Medical Center following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Karen Grimm; his three sons, Michael, Brian and Robert Grimm; his brother Paul Grimm; Sister Mary Reinhold; six grandchildren; 4 nieces and 2 nephews; Mark Grimm and Danny Goodall also both from Walla Walla.

Born and raised in Willard, OH, the son of David and Grace Grimm, he was a long-term resident of Walla Walla for over 30 years. Mr. Grimm joined the Navy and served his Country for 4 years with an Honorable Discharge in 1957. He attended Walla Walla Community College and Eastern Washington University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

He met his wife Karen at the VA Medical Center in Walla Walla and they married in 1964. Mr. Grimm had the opportunity to serve in several State and City government management positions and retired in 1992 as the Director of Plant and Facilities for the Walla Walla School District.

David was an avid outdoorsman and spent many hours on both the Snake and Columbia Rivers fishing and enjoying the company of friends and family. He was passionate about serving in his local church, Life Church of Walla Walla, and he held many leadership positons at the church throughout his life.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Monday January 2 at Life Church of Walla Walla. Memorial contributions may be made to Life Church or Better Together of Walla Walla.
