Darryl Dennis “Denny” Nelson, 74, died at his Walla Walla home on Sept. 5, 2015.

A celebration of life will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at Shiki Hibachi Sushi, 220 E. Main St., Walla Walla.

Denny was born in Seattle, on Aug. 5, 1941, and graduated from Olympia High School in 1959. He and Cathy Marie Kroon married on June 19, 1976. He worked at the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin for a number of years in advertising and circulation. Cathy died March 22, 2011.

He enjoyed supporting his daughters in their sports activities, playing rhythm guitar with friends in a band and bowling.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walla Walla Softball Association.

Survivors include his daughters, Kimberley Bauman, Kendall Ford, and Kirsten Green; two sisters, Joan Killens and Jan Wittkopp; and seven grandchildren.
