Walla Walla, Washington - Darlene Mae Hill, 88, passed away on April 17, at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center in Walla Walla, Washington. She was born September 11, 1936, in Walla Walla, Washington to John and Leona Cummins. She attended Washington Grade School and graduated from Wa-Hi in 1954. In June 1954 Darlene started working for the Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers and served for 35 years 10 1/2 months and retired in 1991.
Darlene married Richard Seibel in 1955 and had a son Gary. They later divorced. Darlene married William Stewart in 1958 and had two sons Randy and Scott. They later divorced.
Darlene met William R Hill and in 1983 they were married.
In 1993, Bill and Darlene became snowbirds. They wintered in Yuma, AZ. and were park hosts at Rooks Park in Walla Walla, for several years.
Darlene enjoyed researching genealogy, she was a Seattle Mariner fan and rarely missed a game. She loved attending church on Sundays and Sunday evenings. She met monthly with her high school graduating class.
Darlene is survived by her sons, Gary Stewart (Teri) and Scott Stewart (Brandee) of Walla Walla; several grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; brother, Don Cummins; son, Randy Stewart; grandson, Justin Stewart; and granddaughter, Amanda Stewart.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Walla Walla Alliance Church, 902 S Howard S, with a reception to follow.
