Daniel Joseph Herres

Daniel Joseph Herres passed away, with family by his side, on April 1, 2023, at his home. Dan was born August 21, 1954, in Walla Walla. The third of seven children born to Hubert Herres and Frances Roth. He grew up in Walla Walla and graduated from Walla Walla High School.

Dan married Alicia Coe on January 29, 1977. They were blessed with three children, Jessica Wells (Jonathan), Jennifer Baldwin-Bonney (Justin), and Matthew Herres (Shonna).

Dan loved to attend all the sporting events, musicals and plays that his children or grandchildren participated in. He loved traveling with his wife, children, and grandchildren with a new book in hand, as he found great joy in reading.

Prior to his retirement in 2020, Dan was employed by Nelson Irrigation Corporation for 40 years. Throughout his career with Nelson, Dan wore many hats.

He was a man of integrity who loved his wife and family. He will be missed by all he came to know.

In addition to his wife, Alicia, Dan is survived by his children and grandchildren, Britney and John Wells, Carson, Elias, and Zoe Baldwin-Bonney, and Kiauna Canada and Brayen Herres; mother, Frances Roth; sister, Janet Snell (Steve); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Hubert, and siblings, Franklin, Dale, Doug, Nancy Herres, and Ann Froom.

A memorial service is scheduled for May 12, 2023, at 11:00 am, at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St., Walla Walla, WA.
