Dana Lee Wrenn

August 17, 1932 — May 13, 2022

Walla Walla

Dana Lee Wrenn (Becker) passed away at Wheatland Village in Walla Walla on May 13, 2022.  She was born August 17, 1932, in Spokane, to Henry (Hank) Gustav and Virginia Kathryn (Lee) Becker.  Her early years were spent living in both Spokane, WA and Priest River, ID; Dana attended John R. Rogers High School in Spokane and graduated from Priest River High School.  She moved to Walla Walla following the deaths of her husband and mother, then to Milton-Freewater, OR for several years before returning to Walla Walla and Wheatland Village.

Dana’s working life included being a nurse’s aide in Newport, WA, Sandpoint, ID, and Spokane, WA.  She then moved on to become an upholsterer at Fiberform and Bayliner Boat Companies, where she worked until retirement.  After retiring, Dana enjoyed several years of traveling with her husband, Jack, and began painting and doing arts/crafts, producing beautiful pieces.  She was an excellent cook, and our family always enjoyed her holiday meals.  Being a very talented woman, she also took up genealogy as a hobby and took many trips to Salt Lake City, UT, with her good friend Bev Rowley.  She generated a detailed history for future generations to learn from, and her amazing memory allowed her to tell detailed stories.  Mom also enjoyed playing the piano, fishing, bowling, playing pinochle, cribbage, bunco, horse races at Playfair (where her bets were based on her dreams), evening car rides near Walla Walla, and frequent outings to Wildhorse casino, where she won some and lost some.

A very special thank you to our sister, Kathy, for her attention to mom’s needs and the Wheatland Village Staff for their patience, kindness, and the care shown to our mother in her last months, and to Community Hospice of Walla Walla for compassionate care in her final days.

Dana is survived by her sons, Brad (Diane) Wear and Brian (Sandra) Wear; her daughter, Kathy Stender (Wear) (Dennis); Four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jason, Brandon, and Bree; and five great-grandchildren, Grace, Zachary, Oliver, Hunter, and Connor.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Leonard James Wear; and her 2nd husband, Jack G. Wrenn.

At her request, no service will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice or Blue Mountain Humane Society through Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W Alder St, Walla Walla, WA 99362
