Dana Ann Dilts

Dana was born in Walla Walla, Washington at St. Mary’s Hospital on February 5, 1968 to David & Beth Ann Brinker Dilts. She was educated in Walla Walla at Betty Shields Pre-School, Prospect Point, Garrison Jr. High and Walla Walla High School. She attended Eastern Washington University and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Walla Walla University where she continued on with her education receiving her Masters in Social Work.

She worked as a social worker for Garrison Creek Lodge in Walla Walla before leaving the area for Yakima and Wenatchee to continue her work as a social worker. Dana enjoyed sports: she swam for the YMCA swim team, played basketball for Walla Walla High School, and enjoyed running.

She has one daughter, Elizabeth “Elie,” Marjorie Johnson, named after her two grandmothers; Elie resides in Walla Walla and attends Walla Walla High School.

Dana is survived by her parents, Beth Ann and Dave Dilts of Walla Walla; a brother, Daniel Dilts (Teresa) of Riverside, California; her daughter Elie; her Godmother, Virginia Kelly; her aunt and uncles, Bob and Joanne Brinker of Milton-Freewater, Oregon, Rodney Dilts of Arizona; and her nephews and nieces Berton Daniel Dilts, Thomas Corona, Candace Corona, and Anthony Corona; a great-nephew Stephen Corona; cousins, Bob Brinker, Sam Brinker, Julianne Brinker and Scott Dilts and numerous other cousins throughout the Northwest.

Viewing & visitation will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. The Memorial Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with Reverend Ernest Campbell officiating. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Walla Walla, Blue Mountain Humane Society and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice through the funeral home.
