Dale Cleon Cox

February 2, 1944 — September 18, 2011

Dale Cox passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 18, 2011, after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. His wife and sons were by his side.

Dale graduated from Mac-Hi, and had an AA degree in communications from WWCC. After a tour in Vietnam, Dale went to work for the BNSF Railroad and retired from the RR after 38 years. After retiring Dale was an avid golfer, often getting up at dawn to be the first one on the course. He also loved fishing, working in his yard and camping with family and friends. Dale was a member of the WW Jaycees and had lots of fond memories of the many events the Jaycees sponsored over the years.

Dale is survived by his wife, Diana Cox; sons, Mathew Cox and wife, Tabatha, and Jon Cox and wife, Ann, all of Spokane; one daughter, Annette Herbst and husband, Glenn, of Dayton; one brother and best friend, Jack Cox of Walla Walla; sister, Norma Clark of Nevada; sister, Jean Branch, Missouri; brother, Dean Cox, Nebraska; two stepdaughters, Tabatha and Kim; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ed Cox.

Private memorial services will take place at a later date.
