Cye Dixie Logsdon, 77, died peacefully at home on Friday, December 1, 2023. Cye was born to Del and Esther Logsdon on September 18, 1946, in Colfax WA.
After high school, he joined the Navy and became a Navy Combat Corpsman. After the Navy, he met his future wife, Sue Cox, in Spokane. They married on July 29, 1972, and then moved to Walla Walla. Cye first served as a Physician Assistant at the Washington State Penitentiary before becoming an officer and then a Sergeant. He retired after 36 years at WSP.
Cye was a father of four sons: Rodney in Seattle, Michael in Walla Walla, Andrew in Spokane, and Daniel (Sara) in Walla Walla. He was a proud grandfather of three: Conan, Genevieve, and Elliot.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Esther; brother, William; and sister, Mary Lynn Shilvock. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, Robert (Dee Dee) and Lester (Bertha); sister, Maxine Heidenrich (Louis); brother-in-law, John Shilvock; and Niece, Liz (Roland Swopes); many other nieces and nephews and friends.
Some of his favorite activities were hunting, fishing, sausage making, and puzzles. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church since 1983.
There will be a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Andrew O’Leary celebrating, followed by burial at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Walla Walla Community Hospice or the Walla Walla Vet Center through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W Alder St, Walla Walla WA 99362. In addition, friends and family are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.herringgroseclose.com.
