Corleen “Corkie” Buerstatte passed away at the age of 91. Corkie’s wish was to be able to stay home. It was a long nine years battling cancer. Thanks to her family, she got her wish.
Daughter of the late Charles H. Berg and Catherine (Rizzuti) Berg.
She attended St. Patrick’s school. She was a lifetime member of St. Francis Catholic Church and their societies, Eagles Auxiliary 26, B.P.O.E. #287, Italian Heritage, and proud to have been a Walla Walla Historical Auto Club charter member. Corkie dedicated her life to her family and neighborhood kids. She moved once in life (next door) to her family home.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Piper and Barbara Birdwell (Gary); grandchildren, Greg Piper (Gihan), Chuck Buerstatte Jr. (RaeAnne), Laura Buerstatte, Jessica Coll (Rod), Brian Mele, and Vanessa Mata (Billo); 11 great-grandkids, and two great-great-grandkids.
Preceding her passing was her husband, Richard “Dic” Buerstatte; one son, Charles Richard Buerstatte; and great-grandson, Charles “Chas” Richard Buerstatte III.
Burial and Celebration of Life will be held later this fall.
