Colleen D. Hull

Colleen D Hull of Walla Walla passed away Feb. 7, 2012, surrounded by her family at Garrison Creek Lodge in Walla Walla at the age of 84 years.

Colleen was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Alameda, CA the daughter of Robert & Iris Carol Wright Cochrane. She attended Washington Elementary School, College Place Schools and Touchet High School. After graduation, she married Delbert Dodd and they had two children Patsy and Delbert Jr. They later divorced and she moved to Walla Walla where she met Ivan Hull. They married in 1973. She worked for the Bon Marche, Safeway, Baker Boyer Bank and Seafirst bank. After retiring from Seafirst bank, she continued taking care of their plants for several years.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, traveling, bowling, crafting and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Walla Walla Elks Lodge Lady Elks, Walla Walla Antique Auto Club, American Business Woman’s Association, and the Washington Women’s Bowling Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Hull; a sister, Patsy Aichele; and brothers, Robert Cochrane, John Harpe, Dale Harpe and stepson, Terry Hull. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Iris Carol. She is survived by her daughter Patsy Heimgartner, son, Delbert Dodd Jr., stepson, David Hull, brothers, Jim (Ruth) Harpe, Lester (Janet) Harpe, Lyle (Sally) Harpe, Dean (Odie) Harpe, 3 grandchildren, Greg Heimgartner, Travis Dodd & Chad Dodd; 2 step grandchildren, Jennifer Peddicord & Chris Hull and 7 great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 followed by a celebration of life at the Walla Walla Elks Lodge #287, 351 E Rose St. at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Elks Therapy Program for Children or a charity of the donor’s choice through the Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
