Clinton Ernie Filan was called home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Providence St. Mary Hospital at the age of 30.
Funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at 3 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 1919 Fern Ave with Rev. Jack Bailey and Pastor David Lyke officiating. There will be a private family internment.
Clint was born on June 25, 1982, at Walla Walla General Hospital to Ernie and Elaina Filan. He grew up actively involved in his church, First Assembly of God where he attended the Mustard Seed preschool, Liberty Christian School where he was a Royal Ranger of the year for two consecutive years. He also played multiple years of church basketball and at 6’5” & 250 lbs he was a force to be reckoned with.
Clint graduated in the class of 2000 from Walla Walla High School. He was an accomplished athlete playing several years of football, basketball, 1999 State Champion 4A division and places at 1999 State Finals track & field in shot put.
Clint grew up as a fourth generation farmer alongside his brother, dad and cousins on the family farm. His grandpa, Arne Filan taught him how to drive his first semi-truck at the age of 12. Clint married his wife Jo in 2007. They lived in Spokane with their 2 children, Dominique and Austin. He was a dedicated husband and father and gave them unconditional love each day. He loved his family and friends. What people will remember Clint most for is his spirit of compassion and gentleness. He had a deep appreciation for all of God’s creations.
Clint is survived by his wife Jo; children, Dominique and Austin; mom, Elaina, dad, Ernie; brother, Lester; grandparents; Arne and Harriet Filan and Dan and Maysel Bowers; father-in-law, Ken; grandpa, Warren and grandma, Dorothy Campbell; multiple aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Sheryl Bowers Casey and uncle, Kevin Bowers. He blessed us with his beautiful life every day and will be missed until we meet again.
