Clair Eugene Woodward

January 30, 1921 — February 7, 2014

Clair “Woody” Woodward, 93, of Waitsburg, passed away on February 7 in Walla Walla.

His base of operations here was the roundtable at the Waitsburg Hardware, where he made many friends with his outgoing personality.

Woody served as a State Patrolman in Wyoming for 25 years, retiring in the Cheyenne area in 1985 as Sergeant.

He loved hunting, fishing and camping, and could swap stories with the best. His special hardware friend was John Stellwagen.

Woody is survived by wife Mary Arland at the home, one Sister, El Jean in Iowa; three sons Kenny, Terry and Donald; three stepsons: Steve, Marvin and Craig: many grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and two special nephews Dennis and Randy.

Services will be held at a later date in Torrington, Wyoming. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice through the Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
