Cheryll Ann Leamer

With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Cheryll Ann (Holden) Leamer, who entered eternal rest on August 6, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family.

Cheryll was born on October 25, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She spent her early childhood in Warminster, Pennsylvania, before moving to La Conner, Washington, with her mother, Eleanor, in 1960. Cheryll was a freshman at La Conner High School when she met the love of her life, Patrick “Pat” Leamer. Their beautiful love story began on November 14, 1963, and spanned nearly 63 years. Their strong foundation was built on faith, devotion, laughter, and unconditional love. It stands as the guidepost we all strive to live by.

Cheryll and Pat raised three children and built a home known for its warmth, generosity, and open door. It didn’t matter if you were a friend or stranger, a relative or neighbor; everyone knew there was a special place at Cheryll’s table. She was the “neighborhood mom”—the one who welcomed everyone in for a meal, drove countless kids to practices and activities, hosted celebrations, and made every person feel like family.

Something you might not know about Cheryll is that she was not born into a Catholic family but found her faith in the Catholic Church. Cheryll devoted her life to her faith, participating in the Catholic Daughters, her weekly Bible study group, and countless parish activities. Her faith was evident not only in her words but in the way she lived—serving others, offering a listening ear, sharing heartfelt prayers, and extending compassion to anyone in need. Many of us remember drawing a name from the prayer jar before meals at Cheryll’s house.

Cheryll worked for many years at Assumption School as both a cook and a bus driver, where she formed lifelong friendships and touched the lives of countless students and families with her caring spirit and joyful personality.

She found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved listening to the waves during annual family trips to the Oregon Coast, traveling throughout the western United States with Pat and their children in any number of camping vehicles, singing with the Sweet Adelines, crocheting beautiful handmade gifts and blankets, and expressing her creativity through crafts. Wherever she went, Cheryll brought kindness, laughter, and a genuine interest in others.

Above all else, Cheryll treasured her family. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her five grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every opportunity to attend their events, celebrate their accomplishments, and simply spend time together creating memories that will be remembered forever. A favorite for everyone was the annual birthday phone call where she would serenade you with Pat bright and early on your birthday.

Cheryll is survived by her devoted husband, Pat Leamer; her children, Jeff (Angie) Leamer; Kathy (Tim) Crowner; and Tressa (Kevin) Baker. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Jaymee Leamer; Lindsay (Christopher) Crowner Jackson; Joshua Leamer; Katelin (Aubrey) Crowner; and Addisson Baker. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carole Clark, and her nieces and nephew, Jan Mickelson, Briallen Clearwater, and Ken Leamer, and grand-nieces, Amelia Hastings and Karri Mickelson.

Those who knew Cheryll will remember her gentle spirit, generous heart, unwavering faith, welcoming smile, and remarkable ability to make everyone feel loved. Even though our hearts are broken, we know she has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior. Her example of faith, strength, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to guide her family for generations to come.

Cheryll had a special message for her children/grandchildren: “I want you to experience the joy of giving to others- if you have two packages of something, give one away; if you have $20, give $10 away. Share with others. Donate.”

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with Father Jeffrey Lewis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Christian Aid Center or a local Food Bank, or that you honor Cheryll’s memory by opening your heart and home to someone in need, just as she did throughout her life.
