Cecelia Fisher Blue, of Walla Walla, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, at the age of 83. She was born on July 29, 1942, in Seattle, WA, where her father worked at Boeing during World War II. After the war, her parents returned to Walla Walla, where she would reside nearly all her life.
Her childhood days were spent running around and exploring the open land with her siblings and beloved childhood dog, Rex. Cecelia remembered the undeveloped areas of Walla Walla where her family lived and was happiest horseback exploring the natural beauty of her surroundings.
She was proud to be hired directly out of high school in 1960 to work as a secretary for Bonneville Power. She loved the work and all the people in that system. She was surprised and honored to receive a Meritorious Performance Award during her tenure.
In 1962, God gave her the love of a good man to cherish forever. She married Melvin Blue on June 16, 1962, and together they raised four children and shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Cecelia’s proudest moments in life were her marriage, the births of her children, and grandchildren.
She raised her children to be resourceful, hardworking, and independent and was proud of them for that. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and seeing them grow into young adults, all giving her high hopes for the future knowing the world is in their capable hands. “Dare to dream big, then work hard to achieve” was one of her many pieces of wisdom she imparted to her family. Cecelia was proud that any measure of success she and Melvin achieved was entirely through their own hard work.
She valued God, family, and country above all. She lived in the present moment, enjoying the simple treasures of life. She felt that she was “rich beyond measure with a fortune in diamonds in the morning dew, all of the gold in the sun, and silver in the moon.”
Cecelia is preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Lawrence and Marjorie Fisher; mother, Claudine Miller; son, Michael Blue; and sister, MaryAnn Fisher (died at birth).
Cecelia is survived by her husband, Melvin Blue; children, Lisa Smyth, Katy Conley, and Todd Blue; grandchildren, Jeremy Conley, Adam Conley (Kendall), James Blue, and Mattie Hamilton (Brennan); siblings, Tim Fisher (Linda) and Lynn Griffin; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
