Carolyn Ann McBride went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, March 30, 2018. She was 79.
Carolyn was born and raised in Walla Walla; her parents were Harold and Dorothy Duff. She married Dick McBride of Milton Freewater on December 30, 1960, and they were inseparable for over 57 years. Carolyn graduated from Prospect Point School and Wa-Hi. After graduation she worked at Baker-Boyer banks in Walla Walla and Milton-Freewater.
After the birth of their daughter, Marci, they moved to Redding, California. Carolyn opened and ran The Bible Shop in Redding, and later she became office manager at KVIP Christian Radio, where she also hosted her own daily radio program, “The Shut-In Of The Day”. Carolyn was very involved with her church, North Valley Baptist, and later, Shasta Baptist, both in Redding. In 2017, Carolyn and Dick returned to Walla Walla to be closer to family. They both lived at the Odd Fellows, and found a new church home at Walla Walla’s Heritage Baptist.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Richard L. (Dick) McBride; daughter, Marci Lin Morton and husband John Morton; two grandsons, Zane Taylor and Landen Morton all of Redding; sisters, Judith Pippin and Denice Bennett of Walla Walla, and Beverlie Strain of Kent, WA; cousin, care-giver and companion, Nancy Allred Schmidt; many, many cousins, and nieces and nephews too numerous to count!
