Brian “BJ” Jones, 51, passed away unexpectedly with his wife Michelle by his side at Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
Brian was born to loving parents Larry and Cynthia (Simoni) Jones on September 5, 1973, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He grew up in Visalia, California, where he attended Crestwood Grade School and graduated from Redwood High School. He spent his childhood playing baseball and basketball and being with family at the river. He was the best big brother to Kevin, Lisa, and Julie (deceased).
He attended college at the University of Hawaii Hilo, where he played basketball for 1 year. He then went to College of the Sequoias and received his AA in Ag Business. He worked many Ag jobs throughout Central Valley, California. He then moved North to Morgan Hill, California, to work for Mariani Orchards, where he met the love of his life, Michelle. They dated for 5 years before marrying at Mission San Juan Bautista in 2002. They resided in Visalia for 1 year before moving to College Place, WA, where Brian took a position with UAP in Pasco, Washington, as Regional Manager for the PNW. He then went out on his own and started an AgChem business. At that same time, he also bought a cherry orchard and started farming cherries for many years, which he really enjoyed. Brian enjoyed fine dining, BBQ with family, vacationing to Hawaii yearly, and spending time as well in Oregon and Montana. His passion was his work. Making deals every day and talking to his associates all over the country daily was his passion.
The love that he had for his wife Michelle, their dog Roma, his family, and friends meant everything to him. He was also a loving Godfather and Uncle to his nieces and nephews. He is loved by many. He meant so much to everyone and will be sorely missed. He was a friend to all he encountered, the life of the party, always making you laugh, and there to help at any time. He leaves a gigantic hole in our lives, and we are heartbroken. We will miss our “Gentle Giant”. Gone too soon.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Michelle; his parents, Larry and Cindy Jones; brother, Kevin (Tawny); nephew, Aaron; niece, Madelyn; sister, Lisa Marshall (Nick); niece, Juliana; nephew, Roy; nephew, Graydon; niece, Nicolina; In-laws, Joseph and Rita Atencio; brother-in-law, Michael (Holly); nieces, Amelia and Illa; as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins.
