Billie Ruth Baker, 67 died Dec. 29, 2011, at Walla Walla General Hospital. Billie was born in Pollock, La., to Preston Easterling and Katie Easterling.

Billie lived in the area for 30 years. She was a licensed practical nurse. She always had a beautiful smile, was kind to all she met. She was very much a country girl. Cooking yummy Southern comfort food was her favorite thing. The only thing she loved more was eating it. She loved her husband and thought her son was the greatest, loving him unconditionally to the end!

Survived by son, Alfred Caroll Baker (Butch); sister, Tabbie Mae Meadows; grandchild, Sandra Rose Baker; three nieces and nephews, Mitch Meadows, Julie Meadows, Toni Anderson. Preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Baker; brother, Bud Easterling.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m., on Jan. 29, 2012, at the Village Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Steve Walikonis officiating. Arrangements are through Herring Groseclose Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation through the funeral home.
