Betty Jane Selde

Betty Jane Selde, 96, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 25, 2023.

She was known to many for her devotion to the community and her volunteer work which included the Red Cross, the Pantry Shelf, Zonta, and the Girl Scouts.

A licensed RN, she trained and supported the development of many in her roles as Director of Nursing Services at Smith Nursing Home and later as a member of the nursing staff at Park Manor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon.  She is survived by her son, Peter Selde, Sr. (Tina) of Fernandina Beach, FL; her daughter, Cynthia of Walla Walla; her daughter, Lynda of Riverdale, NY; and her son, William (Susan) of Omaha, NE.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
