Betty Jean Roquet

Betty J Roquet, 89, of Walla Walla, WA passed away October 3, 2024. Betty was born January 26, 1935, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the youngest daughter of Robert and Helen Parsons.

Betty attended school in Ottumwa, graduating from Ottumwa High School in 1953.

Betty married Paul E Roquet from Fremont, Iowa, May 29, 1954. They were married 68 wonderful years and had 3 sons, Mike, Greg and Doug, all born in Iowa.

Betty worked at John Morrell & Co, corporate offices in Ottumwa and later at First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Walla Walla, now Banner Bank from where she retired in 2003.

Betty enjoyed many hobbies including spending time with family, arts & crafts, reading and traveling. She's been a member of various Presbyterian churches, a local painting club, the Red Hat Society, Sweet Adelines and participated in Cub Scouts. During retirement, Betty and Paul enjoyed camping throughout the Pacific Northwest and Arizona in their RV.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Paul E Roquet, parents Robert and Helen Parsons, sisters Virginia Graham and Delores Miley and son Michael Roquet.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory L Roquet and wife Deborah of Woodland, CA and Douglas R Roquet and wife Brenda of Walla Walla, WA, Grandchildren Paul Roquet Shimizu (Momoko) of Concord, MA, Molly June Roquet of Concord, CA, Larissa Mercado of Walla Walla, WA, Alex Roquet of Bellingham, WA and two great grandchildren, Quin and Takato. Also survived by brother-in law David Roquet of Jefferson, IA and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joe and Joan Morgan of Urbandale, IA.

A family graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, 2120 South 2nd Ave., Walla Walla, WA, Friday, October 18th at 10:00am.
