Ausencio Lopez Balderas

Longtime Walla Walla resident
Ausencio L. “Chencho” Balderas Sr.
died Sept. 18, 2013, at the age of 66. He
was born on Feb. 8, 1947, to Abraham Balderas-Lopez
and Ana Maria Balderas Cortez in San Luis Potosi,
Mexico. He was one of 14 children. On Sept. 15, 1974,
he married the love of his life, Maria Balderas Hernandez,
in Monterrey NL, Mexico. He joined his wife
in Walla Walla in 1975.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years and their two
sons, Ausencio Jr. and wife Maria Balderas and Gabriel
Balderas; daughter, Michelle and husband Mike
Nino; three grandchildren, Andrew, Natalia and Marissa
Balderas.

Viewing will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at
Herring Groseclose Funeral Home at 1 p.m. followed
by a Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass will be at St. Patrick’s
Church on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. A reception
will follow after burial at the reception hall of
St. Patrick’s Church. Memorial contributions can be
made at any Banner Bank location under the name
Gabriel Balderas, FBO Ausencio Balderas.
