Anna Marguerite (Honnah) Perkins
died May 28 at age 95 at the Washington
Odd Fellows Home. She was born
Feb. 14, 1921, in Walla Walla to John and Katherine
Gottwig Harding.
She was one of eight children, six deceased and survived
by her one remaining sister, Evelyn Brumback,
who just turned 100. She is also survived by her son,
Edward A. and wife Linda Weitz of College Place, and
Mary Ann and husband Roger Morris of Walla Walla.
She married Bill Perkins and gained two stepdaughters,
Judy Pugliese of the Tri-Cities and Kathy
Perkins of Edmonds, Wash.
She had worked at Fleenor’s Grocery and was proud
of “her” produce department. She grew the most
beautiful flowers and had a real showcase every summer.
She loved country music; George Jones and Willie
Nelson were two of her favorites. She would crank
the music up high and sign along. You could hear her
a mile away. She always tried to teach her grandchildren
certain German words. She would say it then
say, “Now you say it.” Only Mom could get those guttural
sounds out correctly.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lori of
Emmett, Idaho, Tammi of Iceland, Jeannie of Essex,
Conn., and Andrea of Richland, Wash. She had five
great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes to donate to either
the Odd Fellows Home or to the Walla Walla
Community Hospice for their amazing care, through
the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home.
Private family interment services have been held at
the Mountain View Cemetery of Walla Walla.
Family and Friends are invited to sign the online
guestbook at www.herringgroseclose.com.
