Ann Krussel

April 13, 1937 — October 28, 2024

Walla Walla

Ann Krussel peacefully passed away in her sleep at her home on Monday, October 28, 2024. She is now in heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ, family members, and friends.

Ann was born on April 13, 1937, to Quimby James (QJ) and Mary Evangelina Lefevre in Spokane, WA. She was the youngest of the five children in the Lefevre family. During her school-age years, she lived in Medical Lake, Farmington, Sprague, and Davenport, where she graduated from Davenport High School. After high school, Ann moved to Spokane, attended Holy Names College, and worked at Lincoln First Federal Bank. A coworker at the bank introduced Ann to her future husband, James (Jim) E. Krussel. Their first date was a dance at Washington State College in Pullman. Ann and Jim were later married in October 1960 in Davenport, WA.

Ann and Jim then moved to Walla Walla, WA. Ann worked at the Army Corp of Engineers for a few years until their three children, Bernadette, John, and Audra, came along. During the years when the children were growing up, Ann was busy getting them to school, sports activities, and dance classes.

As the children moved out of the house, there was the opportunity for new adventures and travel. One of Ann’s favorite adventures was a road trip she planned to Mt. Rushmore with Jim. Bicycle riding was also an activity that Ann enjoyed. She and Jim found bike trails in the Tri-Cities, Yakima, Spokane, and Boise. They would ride the different trails as long as there was a spot for lunch or a coffee shop along the route.

Ann had a deep connection to her Catholic faith, and the church was an essential part of her life. As a part of her service to the church, she was a member of the offertory collection group and a member of the funeral dinner group.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her father and mother; her sister and brother-in-law, Lauretta and Dave Taylor; her brother, Robert Lefevre; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Hugo, Dan Pederson, and Robert Krussel. She is survived by her sisters, Bernadette Pederson and Janet Hugo; her sisters-in-law, Loana Lefevre and Arlene Krussel; her children, Bernadette Berney (Mike), John Krussel (Chakriya) and Audra Krussel; her grandchildren, Nathan Krussel and Anna Krussel; and many nieces and nephews.
