Anita Marie Haws, 71, died on January 20, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Anita was born on April 14, 1953, in Walla Walla to Robert Allen and DeLora Dorothy (Smith) Potter.
After her honorable discharge from the army, Anita had a long-lasting career as a school bus driver for the Walla Walla Public School District, her favorite job of all. During the summers, she enjoyed working Wheat harvest, driving truck for her farmer friends. Over the years, Anita enjoyed caring for her numerous pets, gardening, sewing, and cooking. She had a green thumb like no other. Anita touched the lives of so many people; her love, strength, and loyalty are what kept her going. There is nothing she would not do for any person or animal that crossed her path.
Anita is survived by her husband, Dave Haws; son, Shane Haws; sister, Linda Sargent; nieces, Ebony Furrow and Nicole Armijo (Ramiro); and great-nephews, Jakob and Joshua Furrow. She is preceded in death by her parents.
