Alice M. Stole

October 14, 1933 — November 2, 2014

Alice M. Stole passed away on Nov. 2, 2014, surrounded
by family andloved ones. She had endured a long struggle with
Alzheimer’s disease during which she displayed the
strength, tenacity and grace that marked her life.

Alice was born in Omaha, Neb., on Oct. 14, 1933, and
came west with her family to the Seattle area when
she was 11 years old. After her schooling, she met
and married her husband of 62 years, Hagbart (Bert)
Stole and they started their family.
She is survived by her husband, Hagbart Stole at
the home; three daughters, 10 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.

She was accomplished in many areas and after her
children were grown, owned and operated a very successful
wedding shop, “Elaine’s of Edmonds,” in Edmonds,
Wash., for 20 years. Her most important and
precious accomplishments were as a wife, mother and
grandmother. In her later years, she and her husband
traveled extensively and often in Europe primarily to
visit family in Norway.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, Nov.
7, 2014, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Herring Groseclose
Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on
Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home
with Ruben Lara and family members, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery
of Walla Walla. Memorial contributions may be made
to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital through the funeral
home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
